Playful Supervised Smart Spaces project
The key idea of P3S is to enable rehabilitation centers or special education institutes to transform any physical room (min size: 4 sq. m.) into a Magic K-Room: an innovative multisensory interactive environment that incorporates in a unique way virtual worlds displayed in the ambient, and everyday objects, such as toys and lights, which become smart and interactive by effect of technology. These materials react to children’s movements and manipulations with a variety of visual, auditory, tactile, and olfactory stimuli, and offer the opportunity to engage children in a gamut of activities: to relax, to play, and to exercise specific cognitive, emotional, motor, and social skills. In addition to this, Magic K-Room technology offers a set of tools that address the therapists' need of making the process of observation, data gathering, and data sharing more efficient, complete, objective, and cost-effective.


Safe Cooperating Cyber-Physical Solutions using Wireless Communication
SafeCOP, the new European project for IBT Solutions, is started in 2016 with its kick-off meeting in Milan at the end of April. The project, with its extensive name Safe Cooperating Cyber-Physical Solutions using Wireless Communication, will establish a safety assurance approach, a platform architecture, and tools for cost-efficient and practical certification of cooperating cyber-physical systems (CO-CPS). There is currently in fact no certification practice for CO-CPS, where systems from several manufacturers have to interact wirelessly. An important feature of such systems is that they can successfully address several societal challenges, that they use wireless communication, they have multiple stakeholders, dynamic system definitions and unpredictable operating environments.


REliable power and time-ConstraInts-aware Predictive management of heterogeneous Exascale systems
RECIPE is a new FETHPC-02-2017 – Transition to Exascale Computing – project lead by Politecnico di Milano – Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria. As in other running projects, RECIPE partners constitutes one of the largest clusters of projects on HPC/Exascale computing in Europe. It is aimed at provideing a hierarchical runtime resource management infrastructure optimizing energy efficiency and minimizing the occurrence of thermal hotspots, while enforcing the time constraints imposed by the applications, and ensuring reliability for both time-critical and throughput-oriented computation.
